Week 6 12U Recap

Week 6 GBR 12U Recap

This weekend the team hosted Gridley Rugby and played a competitive first half, then mixed up the teams to compete against each other for two more periods. The team found some quick scores from Daniel S. on the edge and Brody W. down the middle. Back, Jacob R., had a strong defensive scrimmage day on Thursday and carried the same energy into the match Saturday. Jacob had many strong offensive runs and tackles and is the Back of the Week. Forward of the week is Muhammad S. for leveling up his offensive game by being a leader in the rucks and had two long runs that moved the team out of the Red zone. The Rugger of the week is Charles A. who continues to protect the teams open field with solo tackles and improves his return ability after a kick on offense.

At practice this past week, the forwards worked on communicating which players would support the ruck, while the others set up a pod. The backs focused on offensive plays out of a set piece and running onto kicked balls. The team continues to work on developing their rugby skills and is prepared for the week ahead.
